Saturday Night Outdoor Service Set Up:
  1. What is the responsibility when you set up for Sat night outdoor service (tasks, how often needed, time commitment, etc.)?  Arrive 90 minutes prior to the service.  Most of the equipment is located in the closet next to the reception desk outside Community Hall.  You must have a key to unlock the door.  You will also find some of the equipment in the garage.  It’s easy enough to remember how everything is set up.  It usually takes at least 2 services to learn where everything goes.  After the service is over, it usually takes 60-90 minutes to put everything back where it belongs.  You may also need the exterior door code when entering the church (if you are the first one to arrive).  *You have to contact Emily for that code*
  2. By performing this duty, who does it serve?  I enjoy helping with the outdoor service.  It is an easy way for me to give back to my church family (and God).
  3. How long have you been doing this, and what prompted you to get involved?  I got involved when Pastor Amy first started the outdoor service during the Covid Pandemic.  My wife and I also attend the Saturday 5 pm service all year long.
  4. How do you feel when you perform these volunteer duties (what is meaningful to you in doing this, etc.)?  Helping to prepare for the service (our sanctuary outside) is exceptionally important to me.
  5. What would you tell someone who may be interested in volunteering or learning more about this (who would they contact?  Is it hard to do? is there a need for other volunteers?)?  Try it once or twice yourself.  Come early on Saturday or stay later after the service.  You are welcome to see me directly.
