During the Lenten season, soup and bread are served on Wednesday evenings from March 12 through April 9 at 6:30pm, just before Holden Evening Prayer.   All are invited to join, and welcome to bring a friend, to enjoy the variety of donated homemade soups & hearty breads.  Anyone interested in contributing to one of the evening events can check it out on the Hope website ‘’Sign Ups” page.

Recently, Peggy Kratz was asked what contributing to Meager Meals means to her and how she feels it benefits others.  Her responses are below.

To me, Meager Meals are to show it doesn’t take much to share fellowship and make you realize how lucky we are for what we have.  I make soup and take bread.  You only have to make a crockpot of soup to share and any bread will do. The people that come are happy with whatever you bring.

It’s an easy way to participate and you can do as much or as little that you want.  Meager meals have been a wonderful way to meet other people.  Having a full belly is a great way to go to the service afterwards.  It’s a fulfilling evening.
