What service do you attend most and why?
11am, I’m old school.
Who do you attend with?
My husband Jason and our two daughters, Lily (7) and Maddie (3.5).
How long have you been attending HOPE?
We joined Hope when we moved back to Pennsylvania in 2019
What brought you to HOPE?
The fact that Sunday School started at age 3. We wanted our children to grow up in the Church.
What keeps you at HOPE?
Hope is very unique. It is such a large community, but yet small. We are blessed to have such a great foundation for our youth. From Sunday School to youth groups to missions the list goes on. We give them a place where they can grow their relationship with God. To me keeping God in the center of what I do each day is what matters, and that happens here.
What are some of your passions or hobbies?
I love volunteering at my daughter’s school. From working lunch duty to fish fry breading coordinator, to trunk or treat lady! I love it. I love the kids and the ministry that goes on there. I also love any kind of crafting. From making shirts to epoxy coasters, sign me up! Basically, any time I get to bust out my Cricut.
Have you been able to incorporate them in your life at HOPE?
It is a rare occasion that 5th-6th Sunday School wants to craft but when they do we can usually come up with something. VBS is a place where some of that comes to life. You want a space room, let’s do it. This year kid vid is going totally under the sea so please come check it out.
What volunteer activities do you do at Hope?
I co-teach 5th-6th grade Sunday School with Kia Yohe. I am also currently the C.E. Chair. For the past 2 years I have done the kid vid portion of VBS. In addition to some puppeteering at VBS. I have previously helped with Tiny Tots and Little Lambs.
How does your volunteerism at Hope or elsewhere make you feel? How does it support your life of faith?
I feel that God has designed me to be a giver. I want to teach my children to be givers. I want them to naturally help others in need. My main goal in life is to raise kind humans and if I can do that, I will be fulfilled.
What other HOPE events and activities do you enjoy attending?
My family and I enjoy Trunk or Treat and Trunk Or Treaster.
What inspires you to attend activities or give of your time and talents at HOPE?
My faith has been instilled in me since birth. My parents and grandparents made sure to raise us in the faith and teach us about God. They took us to church every week, Sunday School and VBS. I think back to my Pap’s first sermon and the verse he chose. (Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news.) I want to make sure I am doing my best to preach the good news, to give the best parts of myself that God made. To be a giver but yet not needing to wear a sign saying I’m a Christian. I want it to be reflected in my actions and to know that God sent me to show it.
